COMPULSORY COMMON FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) EXEMPTION EXAM
INFORMATION NOTICE
The Compulsory Common Foreign Language (English) Exemption Exam will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 15:00, in face-to-face sessions at the faculties or schools where the students are registered.
Eligibility for the Exam:

The exam is open to newly enrolled students who will take the Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II courses for the first time. This right can only be exercised once.

Students enrolling for the first time in the English Language Teaching Department of Necatibey Faculty of Education are not eligible to take the exam.

Transfer students (horizontal or vertical) and students currently in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year cannot take the exam.

Students from the Faculty of Theology who have successfully completed the Arabic preparatory class or are exempt from it are eligible to take the exam.
Exam Requirements and Procedure:

Students must bring a valid official identification document (identity card, driver’s license, or passport) to the exam.

The exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions and lasts 50 minutes.
Results and Exemption Criteria:

Exemption exam results will be sent to the faculties’ deanships or vocational schools’ directorates where the students are registered. Students can obtain their results from their faculty/vocational school student affairs offices.

According to Article 17/1 of the Balıkesir University Associate and Undergraduate Education Regulation, students must achieve a minimum score of 60 (CC) to be exempt from courses YDI 1101 and YDI 1201.

Students who score 60 or higher will be exempt from the relevant course.
Note: Participation in the exam implies acceptance of all procedures and principles of the exam.
